Devotions in Colossians
The Supreme Reconciliation
Colossians 1:19-23
As we start another week in our journey through Colossians, as has been our pattern on previous Mondays, I want us to simply spend time meditating over God’s word today.
First, read over the passage slowly at least three times…possibly in three different versions if you have access. As you read, write down any initial thoughts you have in your journal as God speaks to your heart through His word.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. Colossians 1:19-23 NIV
Questions to consider…
In your journal, write down the most important idea that stood out to you from this passage.
What does this passage teach about God’s desire to make us right with Him through the sacrifice of Christ?
Ask God to impress these lessons on your heart today.
