“Test Me”
Read Malachi 3:6-12
Buying a car is a big decision that most people approach with a mixture of caution and excitement. However, no one would be willing to make such a big purchase without first taking the car out for a test drive. By trying the car out, a person can determine if the car is the right purchase at that time.
God challenged the ancient Israelites to test Him to see if He could be trusted and if He was faithful. He was asking them to faithfully give money to the temple to carry on the work there.
Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10 NIV
While it may be a fairly easy thing to test drive a car, giving God a “test drive” is much more complicated. Learning that He is faithful and that he can be trusted in all things takes time and experience.
What keeps you from believing that God can be trusted?
What is one area of your life you would be willing to trust God?
God, help me to trust You with every detail of my life each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
